Finally...!

I had to wait several days to get hold of my issue of Total Tattoo, which for someone like myself who is extremely impatient, it turned out to be another great result seeing my peacock tattoo from the Portsmouth convention.

The psychedelic mendhi peacock was created by Sandy Green at Sacred Art in Chorlton, Manchester.
It is a fantastic feeling that my tattoo made it into 2 magazines, Skin Deep for me had a great write up and I loved our mention, thanks Sion!

So what's next I hear you say?

Well, Tattoo Jam is 60 days away, (and counting!!) and I'm looking forward to stage two of my sleeve. It is a William Morris inspired piece which went from a half to full sleeve in a matter of  message on facebook....Sharron Caudill you really did have to twist my arm :)
I maybe sneaking in an appointment before TJ to go and see Sharron at Northern Soul so we can add a couple more flowers and start on some shading, giving me my much needed fix!!

Let me know if you have got a new tattoo, or planning some more ink. It would be great to hear from those reading the blog seeing as I'm reaching those in USA, Canada, Mexico and many many more places.....If you get in touch you may just make it onto the blog!!

One more sleep.....

Just one more sleep and I'll be able to feast my eyes on the new issue of Total Tattoo Magazine and hopefully see my awesome peacock tattoo in the Portsmouth write up. Following the great article in Skin Deep it will certainly be an awesome achievement for Sandy Green of Sacred Art, Chorlton.

New edition of Skin Deep - Issue 199 OUT NOW!!

Well Skin Deep is out and I now have several copies for myself and friends, and yes I will be framing one! I have to say I did spend more time than usual reading every article to build up the anticipation of seeing the write up which I had been waiting so patiently for. What struck me the most was the interesting stories and insights into artists and why so many follow the love of tattoos and body art. My favourite was the opening article from Sion Smith,  and his discovery of Tattoo dating.....have to say I looked into it and somewhat disappointed!!

Well done to Sandy Green of Sacred Art Tattoo, Chorlton for the coverage!!!.....so proud :)
The write up from Sion Smith really made me smile, got my name mentioned twice and I'm not even the super talented artist....great story and one to be proud of. An awesome weekend and I have the tattoo to prove it!!!!!

More exciting news is a full page dedicated to the gorgeous work by Sharron Caudill of Northern Soul Tattoo, Liverpool who will be working at Tattoo Jam in August. Looking forward to stage two of my floral sleeve :)

Highlights of LTC 2011 at The Adelphi Hotel, Liverpool

Set in the splendor of the Adelphi hotel, a gorgeous Edwardian building in the heart of Liverpool.  With over 200 booths set amongst the labyrinth of rooms there was plenty to feast your eyes on, and with amazing artists under one roof, it was certainly guaranteed success!

Once in the main entrance of the convention you were hit with an amazing staircase and the grandeur of the interior

If you were able to tear yourself away from stalls and many vendors a true "ink addict" would of been mesmerised with the sounds of 200+ tattooists and the distinct noise of the tattoo guns...for me it is bliss!

The convention was a rip roaring success with friends bumping into each other all weekend. I loved the venue and the line up was superb, my only criticism was nowhere to sit?!  When you want to chill with friends and new acquaintances whilst taking in the atmosphere, an area to sit and give your drinking arm some exercise was essential! The building was outstanding and although the main room was remarkably warm it did create the backdrop to a perfect day.

Having watched several friends get their ink fix, (have a look at the slide show for photo's), it was my turn! I had poured over my design for days and welcomed my tattoo from Sharron Caudill at Northern Soulhttp://northernsoultattoo.weebly.com/

3 stencils and 4.5hrs later and my outline was done for my William Morris inspired sleeve.......Now I have to wait for Tattoo Jam for the next installment. I hope you enjoy the pics

Liverpool Tattoo Convention 2011

With just 4 more sleeps before LTC begins, I'm seriously looking forward to immersing myself amongst fabulous artists and seeing the fantastic tattoos created over the weekend....

And yes, I will be adding to my collection!! Watch this space for an update on the convention and pictures of my new sleeve along with many pictures taken by yours truly.
